Verdon Gorge can be reached from Nice or Cannes in Southern France. The gorge is about 25 kilometres long and in some places up to 700 metres deep. The water running through the river canyon is a beautiful, vibrant, rich turquoise colour. The limestone walls of the canyon attract rock climbers and the area is also popular with hikers. Holiday makers can walk or drive around the canyon or rent kayaks to paddle along its waters.
