Les Houches. At the beginning of the valley. Not as high as the rest of the area, mostly in the woods. Very good on a bad visibility day. Good for beginners.
Les Grands Montets. North side, best snow, highest top 3250 m, not best for beginners, very good for powder seekers!
Domaine de Balme or Le Tour. Train can be taken to Vallorcine also. At the end of the valley. Favorite spot on a sunny day. Panoramic view over the valley to Mont Blanc.
Brevent-Flegere. Brevent closest to Chamonix center. Cabin can be taken over to Flegere. On a snowy seasons you can ski all the way down to Chamonix!
Be aware that there are 2 different ski passes, Le Pass (green) and Mont Blanc Unlimited (red). Red one includes Verbier and Courmayeur too if you have 6+ day skipass.
