US Navy photo.The four ballistic missile defense destroyers patrolling 6th Fleet will get self-protection upgrade beginning this year,as Navy integrates Raytheon’s Sea Rolling Airframe Missile (SeaRAM) onto its Aegis-equipped Arleigh Burke-class destroyers (DDG-51) for first time.U.S. 6th Fleet leadership sent urgent requirement for self-protection on the four ships,which focus all their energy on the BMD mission.

Iranian Navy re-launches upgraded Bayandor destroyer,armed with 76mm & 40mm canons,surface-to-surface Nour(Light) missile,Qader(Mighty)missile & long-range Qadr (Magnitude) missile systems as part of its modernisation programme.Fitted with missile, torpedo, artillery, sonar and other information and communication systems, the vessel is expected to be deployed in the next few days or months off the Pacific, Southern Indian or Atlantic Oceans.
