The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) received four Airbus EC725 Helicopters (H225M) commissioned in 2012. In 2016, the RTAF will receive the last two additional EC725 that were acquired in 2014. The medium-weight helicopters will be used for search functions and rescue and troop transport from September. The helicopters will be operated by 203 Squadron based in Lop Buri in the center of Thailand. Once operational, will allow the RTAF to begin the withdrawal of helicopters Bell UH-1 Hueys.
