New Delhi, Indian Council for procurement for Defence authorized acquisition of 4 additional maritime patrol aircraft Boeing P-8I Poseidon. To date India has ordered 8 P-8I, which takes Indian fleet to 12 aircraft currently. This order must still be approved by Ministry of Finance and Committee on Safety Cabinet. The 4 aircraft deliveries will begin three years after signing the contract. Note that the eight P-8I are last of the initial order which will be delivered at end of 2015.
New Delhi, the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) has authorized the acquisition of 22 Boeing AH-64 helicopters E "Apache" helicopters and 15 Boeing CH-47F "Chinook" in the amount of 2.5 billion US dollars.
