SAN DIEGO (June 16, 2014) The Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH 19) transits San Diego Bay as it departs for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014. Twenty-three nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in the biennial RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1. French Marine Nationale BPC Mistral & FLF La Fayette depart Brest for Mission Jeanne d’Arc 2014, a regular training & patrol exercise. BPC Mistral is lead ship for it's named class of amphibious assault ships/helicopter carriers.DCN Lorient shipyard built & put into service in 1996 frigate La Fayette also lead of class of 5 warships,called title " stealth frigates "with emphasis on reducing radar & acoustic signatures.

Belgian Navy Tripartite Mine Hunter (CMT) M917 Crocus,with crew of 45,left Monday 10 May 2014, its home port of Zeebrugge for the Baltic Sea.  It will participate along with another Belgian mine hunter in international Exercise Open Spirit.Held annually since 1995 in Baltic,to help clear munitions dumped during 2 world wars, by NATO & associated nations.

26 August 2013.This exercise between Crete & Cyprus  intended to train crews to share expertise. Based on realistic scenario, French Aconite frigates USS Gravely & USS Barry (Arleigh Burke-type frigates) coordinated to gather information on surface threat & implement appropriate response. Allied visit also made to get closer to understanding the threat. Team led boat raid on board vessel identified as suspicious & launched investigation & search for evidence.
