Mar 18, 2014.An AugustaWestland AW159 Wildcat,Royal Navy's next-generation helicopter,landed for 1st time on flight deck of Type 45 destroyer at sea.Wildcat,maritime attack variant of Lynx,currently undergoing extensive trials with 700W Naval Air Squadron.As part of trials,has been working at MOD’s aerial range in Cardigan Bay.From next year,Wildcat will begin to replace Lynx Mk 8 as RN frigate & destroyer support helicopter.

First voyage for the new French Marine Nationale FREMM Frigate FS Normandie. The first Royal Navy Wildcat Attack Helicopter undertakes its maiden flight at AgustaWestland in Yeovil, Somerset.    The Wildcat has a more powerful engine allowing it to be flown in extreme conditions all year round. It is also equipped with a more robust fuselage, a high tech interactive display and a new radar system that provides 360 degree surveillance.
