This lady got around.  Her father was an English Prince and her mother was a Russian princess.  Her first marriage was to Alexandra's brother Ernst of Hesse Darmstadt.  She divorced him and then married Grand Duke Kirill of Russia.  Princess Victoria Melita of Edinburgh-, Grand Duchess of Russia by marriage to the Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich, in impressive sapphires and diamond parure.

After the revolution Irene met with Anastasia claimant Anna Anderson. While saying Anderson had some resemblance to Tatiana she denied her claim. Her son supported Anderson's claim and argued with his Mother who insisted that while she was similar she simply wasn't her niece.
