Art Brut. Scilian Fresco Giovanni Bosco (1948-2009) was a shepherd & labourer in a marble quarry until he murder of 2 of his brothers because of psychosis. He spent his days in jail producing art of rare imaginative power, painting on the walls of the town or whatever came to hand. His pictorial alphabet consists of dismembered or “over-membered” bodies, tiny snakes, homunculi, and cephalic hearts, punctuated with words and signs. His genius eventually came to light.
