Johnny Hyde (artistic agent & VP of the William Morris, one of the biggest Hollywood agencies) was 53 when he met Marilyn late 1949. From dates to evenings spent together, he fell in love with Marilyn. He was the one who, with his brilliant conections, could give the necessary directions to Marilyn's fresh career.
It was Johnny's idea for the platinum blonde. He sent Marilyn to Dr Michael Gurdin, who retouched her nose & chin & repaired a small dental imperfection. He bought her a new wardrobe & she was, from then on, seen on his arm at every social event. He asked her many times to marry, but she refused, she wanted to marry for love, & at that time she loved Fred Karger. Johnny bought the contract from her first agent, Harry Lipton & devoted himself body & soul to Marilyn, he could make her a star.
