It was sent to Halifax in 1783. Kilt & plaid proved unsuitable & was exchanged for white linen trousers and gaiters, or the "mosquito" or trousers, shown. The "hummel" bonnet was retained. Drummers reversed the colors of the dress, wearing white coats with green waistcoats and breeches. The light infantry company wore small wings of green cloth on their shoulders, laced with white. Jackets were later scarlet.
