Sculptural Porcelain Archives - Debra Steidel. "Ocean Lace" This piece was about 26" tall when it went into the kiln, about an inch shy of the top. It was thrown in 2 pieces, altered and then coils of clay added to the sides and pulled out into wings. When it was leather hard, I carved the groves and edges and pierced the holes. It was fired to cone 10 with no glaze.
Richard Deacon sculpture, I love the shape of the piece, and the way the edges undulate in and out. I would like to use this piece as inspiration to create a piece out of a different material such as clay.
