French Animal Protection Society (APS) was founded in 1845 to rescue the horses abused by Parisian coachmen. Nearly 200 years later, the most important French movement for animal protection revives its roots, widening the protection of horses. the SPA has indeed ushered in Orne, in Pervenchères it's first protection centre for abused horses. the centre already hosts a hundred horses, 18 donkeys, 4 mules and 65 ponies.
