Miss Lily Elsie joined George Edwardes' company at Daly's Theatre in London as a chorus girl. From 1900 to1906, Lily appeared in 14 shows. The biggest success came in a production called "The Merry Widow," in 1907. She appeared in another 16 shows. She marry Major John Ian Bullough, son of a wealthy textile manufacturer. She then retired from the stage for the next 7 years,at her husband's request.
