Carl Holsøe 'Girl Reading in a Sunlit Room' Carl Vilhelm Holsøe [Danish artist, 1863-1935]. Holsøe and the brothers-in-law Peter Vilhelm Ilsted and Vilhelm Hammershøi were leading artists in early 20th century Denmark. All three artists were members of ‘The Free Exhibition’, a progressive art society created around 1890. They are famous for painting images of "Sunshine and Silent Rooms", all in subtle colors. Their works reflects the orderliness of a tranquil life.
The Scanner by Matej Kren,an installation at the Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, is a tower made of thousands of thin books. Inside is a tunnel lined with mirrors creating the illusion of an infinite number of books.
