F-106A "Delta Dart" was the last of a successfull series of fighters designed and built in the 1950, and beginning with F-100 "Super Sabre". Although arguably the best interceptor in its time and through the sixties, the Six was only built in 350 ex: by the time it fully emerged of teething troubles, the twin-engined two-seater McDonnell F-4 Phantom (once defined by USAF as F-110) set new standards for (heavy) fighter-bomber aircrafts.
The F-111F (along with the rest of the F-111s), was stationed at Cannon AFB for a short while after Desert Storm until the Air Force, in their infinite wisdom, decided to retire the entire F-111 fleet.
