An outstanding pair of original NV 53 lounge chairs in rosewood and black leather, fully reupholstered and refinished by the best craftsmen in the business. Designed by Finn Juhl in 1953 and produced by Niels Vodder, this pair was originally sold by Illums Bolighus, a Danish retailer of household furnishings founded in 1925. The most striking features of the Model 53 are the shape, curvature, and joinery of the arms. The arms originate from a seamless 90 degree joint with the rear legs and narrow to a rounded point, sloping gently upwards where your fingers naturally rest. They resemble the wing of an airplane when viewed from above.
