To continue the morning post about indigenous, climate-specific architecture...here is an example from a cold climate. How can you tell? Well, the super insulating walls & thatch roof plus the huge wall of South-facing glass to capture a maximum of low winter sun (and free heat). The glass lets the light & heat in; the insulation keeps the heat in for the longest possible time.  The photo is from www.fornyetenergi.dk (site is in danish)
