Cyrtostachys renda, also known by the common names red sealing wax palm and lipstick palm, is a palm that is endemic to the Malay Peninsula, Sumatra and Borneo. Because of its bright red colored crownshafts and leaf sheaths, Cyrtostachys renda has become a popular ornamental plant exported to many tropical regions around the world.
This flower, rafflesia amoldi , is the largest flower in the world. The corpse flower, which appears larger, is actually made up of many smaller flowers. The rafflesia amoldi plant's blooms can be over three tall. The plant exudes a pungent smell and has no leaves, stems or roots. The large center can hold six to seven quarts of water.
