The Strand; Galveston, TX...one of my favorite places to spend a summer day!
The Strand in Galveston, TX. The old down town of Galveston, it's filled with boutiques, coffee shops, and bars. It has many 100 year old buildings that survived the 1900 storm, so it's an interesting place to visit, especially if you like history. Plus the Elissa is docked there, the official tall ship of Texas that was built in 1877.
Galveston, Texas Glaveston homes that survived the hurricanes. Not your typical coastal homes some of the grandest houses still standing.

One of the most popular of Galveston's landmark districts is The Strand National Historic Landmark District, formerly known as the “Wall Street of the Southwest” and now home to a host of shops, antique stores, restaurants and art galleries.
