A remarkable tilt top table of "Etruscan" design probably by Gabriele Capello (1806-1879) commonly known as "Il Moncalvo". Turin, Italy, circa 1840. Capello often collaborated with designer Filipp Pelagio Pelagi (1775-1860). Pelagi was in charge of the decoration of Royal Palaces including Racconigi. The classical anthemia and floral motifs and use of exotic woods are indicative of the Etruscan designs employed by Pelagi.
