I love the rhythm in this photo. The effect of the rhythm of the rocks in the image really helps your eyes jump from the foreground into the background in a cross to cross pattern. Also the organic shapes of the rocks create interest. The composition implies beauty in the world around us, and how dark the natural world can be. James Bond Island III, 2007. Andreas Gursky
Andreas #Gursky. Ratingen Swimming Pool. 1987 His work is characterized by the tension between the clarity and formal nature of his photographs and the ambiguous intent and meaning they present. Influenced by documentary approach of Bernd and Hilla Becher. Through all his work runs a sense of impersonality, a depiction of the structures and patterns of collective existence, often represented by the unitary behaviour of large crowds.
