ARCTIC HARES - Arctic hares look like rabbits but have shorter ears, can stand up taller, and can live in colder places. They live in the tundra regions of Greenland and the northernmost parts of Canada. They dig holes under the ground or snow to keep warm and sleep. The arctic hare can run up to 40 mph. The young are relatively mature and mobile from the moment of birth. Those that live more south have brown or gray fur in the summer.
