Paris, March 1951: Janine Holland, 21-year-old 'Maid of Cotton, 1951' of Houston, Texas, is shown in a cotton evening gown designed especially for her by Pierre Balmain. The American Cotton Queen is shown with Balmain during the final fitting. The gown is of Chartreuse cotton with burgundy colored roses covering one hip.
