Portraits Photographiques des Grands Peintres du XIXème
Jean-Baptiste Corot (July 16, 1796–Feb 22, 1875), French landscape painter and printmaker in etching. Corot was the leading painter of the Barbizon school of France in the mid-19th century. He is a pivotal figure in landscape painting and his vast output simultaneously references the Neo-Classical tradition and anticipates the plein-air innovations of Impressionism. He also did portraits, etchings, and pencil sketches.
Hinqumemen- Canadian folklore: the Coeur d' Alene Native American people of British Columbia Canada believe that a lake they call the "Engulfer" is alive. If you took water from that lake, it would silently pursue you on land and take you back to the lake to drown you.
