"Pan Am Clipper" - I'm happy to have known Captain Dick Meade, an old Pan American pilot who flew these beauties birds from NY to the Amazon. They used the river as a runway. One time, as a co-pilot, he was out changing a wing tip light bulb and stepped through the wing. Quite a guy, was Capt. Meade... great sense of humor about himself and life in general. We'll not see the likes of him or these aircraft again.
