Honor Charlotte Appleton (1879 - 1951) was born in Brighton, February 4 , 1879. She began her art studies in Kensington schools ,  then  the School of Animal Painting  she has illustrated more than 150 books. Honor Appleton has developed a very delicate watercolor style that captured the innocent world of children, their adventures and life. She was influenced by Kate Greenaway , Annie French. She unfortunately died before seeing her works exhibited at the Hove Public Library in 1952
