A B-17 bomber Group 483º 's flying virtually no cabin after its front section exploded by a direct impact of Flak 88 mm, while bomb Budapest, Hungary, on July 14, 1944. This dramatic photo was made by crew members of another Boeing, soon after the explosion, which killed both pilots instantly. The aircraft flew in a straight line for 40 seconds, then turned and went to the floor. Five other crew members managed to jump and became prisoners.
