This Is What The Earth Looks Like From A Billion Miles Away

On July 19, NASA's Cassini spacecraft captured a rare image of Saturn's rings and our planet Earth and its moon.

The Planck constant (h) was first described by Max Planck in 1900 as the proportionality constant between the energy (E) of a photon and the frequency (ν) of its associated electromagnetic wave. In 1923, Louis de Broglie generalized this relation by postulating that the Planck constant represents the proportionality between the momentum and the quantum wavelength of not just the photon, but any particle.

The Cassini spacecraft took this view of Saturn’s moon Dione in October 2005, with the tranquil gold and blue hues of Saturn in the distance. The horizontal stripes near the bottom of the image are Saturn's rings
