The Shocking Reason Behind The Dead Forests Across The Midwest
While the rest of the country is enjoying the changing of the leaves, the trees of the Midwest are already completely bare. In fact, all across Michigan, Ohio, and through vast swaths of Indiana and Illinois, whole forests are standing dead without a leaf in sight. Despite your best guess, the culprit isn’t shifting seasons or gradual climate change. It’s a tiny beetle from China known as the emerald ash borer (EAB).
