Started in June 2005 in Cotonou, Benin, the Zinsou Foundation was originally an exhibition space for contemporary African artists and those working on Africa-related themes. After enjoying a great deal of success on the ground, its artistic and cultural missions added a pedagogical and social dimension. Development, poverty reduction and education are now at the core of its mission on par with its historic promotion of Africa’s cultural and artistic heritage.
