African Golden Cat

Asian Golden Cat

African Golden Cat - Although the species has been known for 200 years, it wasn’t until 2002 that the first wild photograph was obtained. In parts of Africa, African Golden cats rank highly in local religious beliefs. When asked about the cat by researchers, natives are secretive and are hesitant to admit they exist. Of the 36 species of wild cats 22 are small cats often no bigger than house cats. Most conservation efforts are directed at the largest members of the family

The African golden cat is about double the size of a domestic cat. It lives in the rain forests of West and Central Africa
