Margaret Ringenberg was a WASP until 1944. When she left the WASPs, Margaret returned to her hometown of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. When the war ended, in 1945, both of the newspapers in Ft. Wayne were on strike. In order to notify the townspeople that the war had ended, a local radio station hired Margaret to fly over town and drop leaflets that read, "Japan Surrenders!" ~
