A half-brother to Secretariat (through Somethingroyal), Sir Gaylord was a Turn-To (whose grandsire was Nearco) son who was a favourite going into the 1962 KY Derby. But a hairline sesamoid fracture started his stud career early. Lucky for me (and many), he was bred to the My Babu daughter, Missy Baba, whose resulting filly, Gay Missile, was the grand-dam of the Secretariat daughter, Weekend Surprise, who foaled AP Indy.
Sunday Silence- Sunday Silence (1986–2002) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. As a three-year-old he won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes and Breeders' Cup Classic, earning distinction as 1989 American Horse of the Year. He was also noted for his rivalry with American Champion Two-Year-Old Male Horse and Hall of Famer Easy Goer.
