Mimih Spirits, The figures in these paintings are usually referred to as mimih. These are not ancestral orcreator beings but spirits who inhabit the rocky escarpment. Mimih are credited with teaching the Bininj people the arts of living: how to hunt, cook, dance, sing and paint.
Bark Painting: Bark paintings using ochre are the original portable paintings of the Aboriginal Artists as it was their natural pallet of painting materials. These painting were done on the bark of the Eucalyptus trees in Northern Australia.
