Capt. Charles E. Rice, Jr., the 499th Squadron Operations Officer, was the pilot assigned to BETTY'S DREAM. The B-25 was photographed on Ie Shima in mid-August 1945. It was one of the escorts for the Japanese "Betty" bombers which ferried the delegation between Japan and Ie Shima as part of the surrender negotiations which ended WWII.
