Hap Sharp at the controls of Chaparral 2E-001 during the 1966 Nassau Trophy race. Sharp won pole, but could not start the engine on the LeMans type start. He was the last car away, nearly a lap down. Yet, he had worked his way up to third when a wing failure sent the 2E off track, broadside into a tree. The Chaparral was wrecked beyond repair, but sharp was uninjured. Despite the crash, he was still classified 4th overall based upon laps completed. della Faille photo, repaired and restored.
