Japan got a big boost ahead of the prestigious Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe when ORFEVRE won the Arc trial, Group Two, Qatar Prix Foy at the Longchamp Racecourse in Paris on Sunday. It has been 32 years since a horse from Japan has won the Arc race. Today’s win has made Orfevre favourite for the October 7 contest. The four-year-old colt Orfevre, which won Japanese Triple Crown, last year, came home in the first place, ahead of three-time European Group 1 champion Meandre.
