Romanian pianist Clara Haskil (1895-1960) was a child prodigy. She rapidly started musical studies in Vienna and then in Paris. At the Conservatoire de Paris, she was the student of Alfred Cortot, who didn’t like her. But the director of the Conservatoire, the composer Gabriel Fauré, supported her.
