David Austin Roses - Boscobel (Auscousin) - Named not for Hampton but Boscobel House, owned by English Heritage. It is famous for the fact that Charles II hid there in an oak tree, whilst being pursued by Cromwell’s soldiers during the English Civil War. However, both Charles II and Cromwell had deep connections to Hampton Court Palace, the latter taking up residence after leading the Parliamentarians to victory. | Facebook
