4-8-22 Fun Day Friday | 4-8-22. Fun Day Friday | By Dor Designs | Hi everybody. Welcome to Fun Day Friday. I am Doreen from Door Designs. And every Friday I try to bring a quick little video on a small little design that's kind of fun to make. Um I'm sitting down for this design and for those of you following me know that I'm not a sit down designer. I do my best I think when I stand up. But for things like this I think it's easier to show you guys if I'm sitting down. So we do a container challenge. I do it twice a month and I will be announcing the winners of container challenge two after this video. And then we'll I'm going to use this one for container challenge number three. And then going forward I'm going to move it the first of each month and you'll have till the 15th to post it and then I'll pick the winners on the fifteenth and then the new one will start on the 15th until the end of the month but we're going to go ahead and start the next one a few days early so on the last container challenge I had some people reach out to me and ask me if I've ever designed in an old coffee container in an old coffee pot in a little water pitcher and I have I didn't actually have a coffee pot I have some big watering cans but I'm going to wait and do those with real flowers because I keep those outside. So we're going to have to wait a little bit longer because it's a little cold in in Missouri still. Uh when I was at Randolph Mercantile this container jumped out of me. It's old. Let me take this out. It's an old container as you can see but I loved the colors in it. And it's got the lid. I'm not going to incorporate the lid with this design. I'm just going to have it sitting next to it when the design is done. But we're going to design with this one. I was going to do some blues with lemons and blueberries. But the lemons I discovered a are way too big for the size of a container and I thought my small ones had cut came in but but they haven't. So we're still going to do blues and yellows. We're going to do some purples and springs but we're just going to do kind of a light airy summer design. I took four pieces of just this Dollar Tree Styrofoam and I took a hot glue gun and just put a little bit of glue in in between them because it fit down perfect inside of my container. I'm not going to glue that in since I'm not selling this or this. I'm going to keep this one. Um I don't want to glue it in case I want to change things up. The same thing with my stems and flowers. Typically if I was doing a centerpiece to ship and sell I would glue all the picks in it. But on this one I don't think I'm going to glue the pics in and I'm just going to kind of stick them in. So I'm going to move the camera just a little bit so you guys can see. And I'm going to design it to where you can look at it on all sides. So that's why I've kind of got my little board out here so kind of move it around. Okay, I'm going to start with some great big blue flowers and these are the flowers that I used on my video yesterday. Excuse me in my design. So we're just going to start placing some here. And I'm going to bend some a little bit. Okay, I put four flowers in and as you can see as I turn it, you can see the flowers on all the sides. I may add one more over here. These are going to be the main floral in the design. Due to the color of them and also the size of them. I'm going to cut this one a little bit shorter. Okay. The other thing too is when when I was gluing the hot glue in between the box, just use a very little bit because if you use too much and you're going to put your stems through it, it's very difficult to get it through the hot glue. Okay, so we got our blue flowers in place and their movements, they're not in there tight. Now, we're going to add, I'm going to add some daisies. And I want to bring the daisies. Whoops. I'm going to move this over just a little bit. I want to bring the daisies kind of in between them to kind of fill in. I'm going to cut this one a little shorter too. And we're just going to keep filling in with daisies. What I like about this deja bush and I got these at Hobby Lobby. See how they just kind of grow. Looks like they've grown in just different directions. They're not straight. There's not perfect. That's what I like. That's what kind of gives it that light airy natural feel to it. I'm taking some of these daisies that I cut off at the bottom. I'm just going to kind of randomly put those in the container. With designs like this, you can use any florals you want. Okay, let's see how we're kind of looking here. I know it looks kind of funny right now but just wait till we get it all done and it'll all kind of come together. I'm moving the flower in the front a little bit shorter and this one a little bit taller. There we go. Okay so here we've got our daisies in. Nice and full. It just makes you happy. Okay I've got a couple of these flowers that I've got at Hobby Lobby for like I think a dollar fifty maybe. They just they were just single florals. But I love how the bright yellow is going to bring out the bright yellow in the center of these blue flowers. So let's just go ahead and put I'm just going to put a couple in because I don't want to overtake the design and now we're going to add some few florals that are kind of kind of come down a little bit. So, we're going to take some yellow peonies here. And I think of this flower as another what I called movement florals. Had a few of these cut already. Okay, see how it's starting to take some shape, some movement, just like this is sitting out like you went to your flower garden and cut some fresh flowers and put them in a container with water. Okay, I'm going to put a few on the backside. Now, when you're designing yours, depending on where you're going to display it, you may not have to decorate the back. But for this one, it may be going on my front porch. I cut this one a little shorter. The other thing too is you can stop at anytime you want when you're designing your arrangements. You may not want them this full. You may want it a little more open. Okay there it is with the yellow. Added in. And then I've got some Wanna start bringing in a little bit of the darker blue and purple. And I'm going to cut these apart at least two of them because they're heavy. Okay, see how that just brings a little bit of the purpley blue kind of start coming through? I'm going to put a couple of pieces of this on the backside. Nice and full. Okay, I've got a few twigs. Here are the blueberries I have but they're pretty good size so I'm not sure I'm going to put the blueberries in but I'm going to try it. If we don't like it, we can always take it out. I gotta stand up so I can't see where it's going. There it goes. I've got my glue pot on next to it so I'm doing some customs when I get done and it is. I usually don't sit down next to it. Okay, let's see how we like that. Okay I'm going to leave the berries in because you can just kind of see them when you look up close. Our arrangements getting nice and full. Okay, I have a little twig that's got a butterfly on it that I think I want to add into it. I got these at Holiday Bobbles from Angel. And I absolutely love them. So let's cut one off. I don't want to damage the butterfly here. There we go. I'm going to kind of curl them a little bit. And then I have some other little twigs that just have some little yellow flowers on them. But I'm going to put just a couple in here. Okay, let me clean my mess up around it and let's see what we have here. Okay, guys. Look how nice and full I'm pulling a few of these down so they kind of give a little more texture to it. A little more design. Nice and full and it's pretty on all sides. Although I want to put something right there. I got one hole there I see. I'm rearranging a few of these blueberries up here at the top. There we go. When I do arrangements like this it's kind of like when I make bows I sit and I fluff them or move them. And then there comes a time where you just have to step back and let it go. Okay. Now I like it. So then when I'm going to set it on my table, I'll put my lid right up next to it and and maybe something else on it. So nice, light, whimsical, airy, all kinds of bright flowers, butterflies. And like I said, you could do any colors that you want. You could get your florals from anywhere. Walmart has some pretty florals in. Dollar Tree has some pretty florals in. So you could make this really pretty inexpensive. And just using the product that you have in your own shops. So, I hope you enjoyed Fun Day Friday. I will get this posted, excuse me, in the designer challenge and like I said, I will announce the winners of the last challenge later today. So, have a great weekend and I'll see you all next week. Take care. Buh bye.

Let’s make two for Easter in this speedy video! 👉🏼codyslinks.com | By How I See It Blog, LLC | Let's talk about Candlesticks today. Y'all it's Cody here with How I See It where I inspire you every day to see the world how I see it. I'm going to be making two different size candlestick arrangements today. Using some foam and some moss bunnies. Super cute. I'm going to be working on these. I hope you guys enjoy this. I'll be giving you guys some tips and tricks as we're moving along. You guys can always speed up or slow down this video. Watch as many times as you like. But I'm just gluing on my bunny rabbits to the top of my little foam piece here. You can find candlesticks at a variety of different craft stores as well as some thrift stores. You can find some great ones as well. And these bunny rabbits are actually foam so it makes it super nice and lightweight for these designs. So then I'm going to pick out my florals here. I'm going in with some yellows and some purples. And obviously always gotta have some nice greenery. The majority of these were some from my stash but they were actually originally from the at home store. No specific florals that you need to be using. Just kind of giving you an idea of some of the things that I like to use. And I always like to make a shape when it comes to my designs. So you can see here that I kind of went up with that greenery behind the bunny rabbit and then it's kind of tapering it down in the front. So it's taller in the back and shorter in the front. And then I'm just working in some of these colored flowers with that orange and that yellow and that purple. Then I have these dangly flowers. I forget the name of them right now. But they are actually from the Dollar Tree. So I just took off the leaves on them. And I added those in just to add some length kind of hanging down the candlesticks. Love how those turned out. Super super pretty. I hope that you guys find this inspirational. I'mma keep on working here. Adding in some moss on the back to cover up some of my foam. As this is a front sided design. I actually had these displayed on my mantle. So you couldn't even see the back of them so I did not design on the back. Just to kind of save on some florals because nobody's going to see back there. And then I'm going to repeat the same process y'all on the second candlestick that I have here. Same thing Kinda taller in the back with the height of that pretty bunny standing up on his back legs. And draping down in the front. And then work it in some of those florals. If you all are enjoying this video I would love it if you guys would give it a like or drop a kind comment down below and let everyone know your favorite part maybe of this design. Whether be the flowers or the bunny. I love candlesticks. They're one of my favorite things to design on. Definitely always something different that you can add to them. And they're super pretty to style on tables to add some height or up on some mantles. Tons of different things you can do with Candlesticks. And if you guys have been enjoying this video I encourage you to check out my virtual design school. Learn from Cody. com to learn everything that you need to know about joining us over there. That's where we do some slower tutorials. Step by step inspiration. Different camera angles. We do Q and As. I answer all of your questions. Lots of things that we do over there. Hope you guys enjoy this video and I'll see y'all later. Bye y'all.
