Just because you don't have a garden or the space to plant flowers or edibles in a traditional manner doesn't mean that you have to lose out. Window farms are vertical gardens that need - you guessed it - a window. We all have one of those, right? Plus, the fact that the plants are grown indoors and hydroponically means that they are less likely to be affected by seasonal changes, pests and black thumbs. Can't wait to try this out for myself! Here's their website: http://www.windowfarms.org/
The basic configuration includes three bottles that act as plant holders, a bottom reservoir to capture/hold water, and tubing to move water through the system. It also utilizes a small air pump that uses water displacement to elevate the water up to the top of the system, where it can then trickle down through each plant.
I love this idea...how about in a bathroom or child's room!
