"Zero Dark Thirty." Went in with high expectations - too high, unfortunately. Didn't really like this movie. Very shocking representation (interpretation?) of the events, but did not like Jessica Chastain in this role (though I've loved her in others, such as "Take Shelter"). Disappointing...
"Skyfall." Really wanted to love this one, but I didn't. :( Way too long and definitely dragged on, but I loved the showdown at the end... very "Home Alone"-esque. Javier Bardem plays such a great bad guy!
"Argo." Loved it!!! Can't believe this was based on a real event. Loved the acting, the plot, the setting!, and the pace of the movie. Very recommended!
The Kids Are All Right (2010)
"The Kids Are All Right." Loved that they casted two incredible actresses to play an incredibly convincing lesbian couple. Loved Mia Wasikowska (again!) and really liked (but did not love) the movie. Too happy of an ending?
The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
"The Perks of Being a Wallflower." Embarrassed that I loved this book in high school... because the subject matter is so cliche! I do like that they incorporated the music from the novel, though. I did not like Emma Watson but I loved Ezra Miller... forgot that he played a psycho in "We Need to Talk About Kevin."
The Secret Garden (1993)
"The Secret Garden." Saw this movie last literally 15 years ago... and I loved it more this time! Such a cute, nice film.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
"The Dark Knight Rises." Great movie with a lot of plot holes - it was almost more fun to talk about the plot holes after than to watch the actual movie! Bane sounded ridiculous, I didn't really like Anne Hathaway, but it was still exciting, very cool, and enjoyable to watch.
Pitch Perfect (2012)
"Pitch Perfect." My crush on Anna Kendrick continues! This was a great movie - the parodies on Glee were great, the actors were likeable, and the singing was great (if you enjoy a capella)!
This Is 40 (2012)
"This is 40." Boo, Judd Apatow!! All of the scenes went on too long, his daughters are terrible actresses, and I think he's in love with Megan Fox. I still really like Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd, but I disliked this movie.
Killer Joe (2011)
"Killer Joe." Wow. Josh called this the darkest comedy he's ever seen - and I have to second that! The ending is shocking and bizarre - a train wreck that you can't stop watching. Matthew McConaughey is such a BAMF; when did that happen?? I would recommend this movie - but prepare yourself!
