"The colours I use for darks are 2 complimentary colors, Burnt Sienna & French Ultramarine is a classic mix. I sometimes use Winsor Green & Permanent Alizarin Crimson or Quinacridone Gold & Winsor Violet, any of these combinations make really rich darks.
