Standing rigging on a square-rigged vessel (illustrated left), which supports a mast comprising three steps: main, top, and topgallant (illustrated right). The shrouds support each section laterally and the stays support each, fore and aft.

Okay, not ALL of the drawings in the 2010 reprint of "The 100 Gun Ship Victory" are poor-quality reprints. This illustration, showing a cross-section of the ship at the main mast and depicting all of the rigging associated with the mast, it's yards, and it's sails, is a prime example of John McKay's talent as a draughtsman.

Catch up to 13 tons is stored in refrigerated holds equipped with thermal insulation, and up to 2 tons on deck. The vessel represents the development of the MRT-K ROSSBEL project (Chkalov Shipyard, 2001)
