"Sarvasyapi bhavatu" is a universal blessing. It is a wish for the well-being, happiness, or prosperity of all beings, without any discrimination or exclusion. Bhavatu (भवतु) and bhavedadhetu (भवेद्हेतु) are Sanskrit words with similar meanings, but there is a subtle difference between them. Bhavatu means "may it be" or "let it be." It is used to express a desire or wish, or to give permission. Bhavedadhetu means "because it may be." It is used to express a reason or cause.

On the face of it, this shloka seems to talk about the hands, and three goddesses who reside in each part of it. But we can trace the roots of this shloka to the vedas, which suggest a more philosophical meaning, in the form of a metaphor. Saraswati is knowledge, Gowri is health, and Lakshmi is wealth. If we grasp these three in our hands, we can lead a complete life. This is great advice for life!
