During this last week the authors of Haandkraft were all camped at Spøttrup castle in Salling, Denmark. We had a wonderful week, and got some time to try out a lot of stuff. W.N: The original recipe says to bake this pudding for the Feast of St. John the Baptist, but, given that it’s a cherry pudding—cherries being sacred to the Goddess of Death & all her mysteries—I think it could be baked for rituals of calling Her down amongst witch & coven alike, and perhaps even for wakes & funerals, since in Japan, falling cherry blossoms represent the souls of the dead.
