When starting a knitting project with a ribbing pattern, it’s nice to have a cast on that flows right into the stitch pattern. In this video, knitting expert Jill Wright demonstrates how to work an alternating cable cast on that is perfect for 1×1 (knit 1 stitch, purl 1 stitch) ribbing.
