Kenojuak ashevak

Infinity of Nations: Art and History in the Collections of the National Museum of the American Indian is a spectacular, permanent exhibition of some 700 works of Native art from throughout North, Central, and South America. Kenojuak Ashevak depicted many animals indigenous to the Arctic. The animals are drawn in a simplified manner, often with radiating geometric shapes. Her style is bold and graphic and she often used negative space as part of the composition.
