This is a well loved dish and everyone follows their own version of steps for it. This recipe is on my blog as well as in my book so you can follow how I make it. Hope you give it a go! 

Best tips I can give you for this one is that if you aren’t using a pressure cooker, be super patient. This is a long haul recipe. Also, don’t be hesitant to add water to keep the cooking process going until the meat and beans are perfectly tender. Water will cook off eventually. Don’t fear it or burn the stew peas lol.
